Tranquility and Insight Meditation: An Approach for Beginners (BK-60)

Most of what you need to learn Tranquility meditation is included here and some beginning information on Insight meditation. However, to properly learn Insight meditation you actually do need a live teacher, someone who has mastered the technique and is authorized to teach it. There are many approaches to Insight meditation, but the one I know and recommend is that taught by the Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, those lamas and rinpoches whose leader is the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje.
